"A good marriage does not require a perfect man or a perfect woman. It only requires a man and a woman committed to strive together toward perfection."
Elder Dallin H. Oaks, April 2007 General Conference. "Divorce"
"Under the law of the Lord, a marriage, like a human life, is a precious, living thing. If our bodies are sick, we seek to heal them. We do not give up. While there is any prospect of life, we seek healing again and again. The same should be true of our marriages, and if we seek Him, the Lord will help us and heal us."
Elder Dallin H. Oaks, April 2007 General Conference. "Divorce"
"Don’t treasure up past wrongs, reprocessing them again and again. In a marriage relationship, festering is destructive; forgiving is divine. Plead for the guidance of the Spirit of the Lord to forgive wrongs, to overcome faults, and to strengthen relationships."
Elder Dallin H. Oaks, April 2007 General Conference. "Divorce"
"If you are already descending into the low state of marriage-in-name-only, please join hands, kneel together, and prayerfully plead for help and the healing power of the Atonement. Your humble and united pleadings will bring you closer to the Lord and to each other and will help you in the hard climb back to marital harmony."
Elder Dallin H. Oaks, April 2007 General Conference. "Divorce"
Whatever the outcome and no matter how difficult your experiences, you have the promise that you will not be denied the blessings of eternal family relationships if you love the Lord, keep His commandments, and just do the best you can.
Elder Dallin H. Oaks, April 2007 General Conference. "Divorce"
"To attain the happy marriage which they hope for they must know that marriage … means sacrifice, sharing, and even a reduction of some personal liberties. It means long, hard economizing. It means children who bring with them financial burdens, service burdens, care and worry burdens; but also it means the deepest and sweetest emotions of all.”
Spencer W. Kimball
"If you want something to last forever, you treat it differently. You shield it and protect it. You never abuse it. You don't expose it to the elements. You don't make it common or ordinary. If it ever becomes tarnished, you lovingly polish it until it gleams like new. It becomes special because you have made it so, and it becomes more beautiful and precious as time goes by."
Elder F. Burton Howard of the Seventy
"Terrific marriages are completely respectful, transparent and loyal."
Elder L. Whitney Clayton
" Marriages would be happier if nurtured more carefully."
Elder Russell M. Nelson, April 2006 General Conference, "Nurturing Marriage"
"As grateful partners look for the good in each other and sincerely pay compliments to one another, wives and husbands will strive to become the persons described in those compliments."
Elder Russell M. Nelson, April 2006 General Conference, "Nurturing Marriage"

To be perfectly honest, I need to nurture my marriage more. I need
to be more aware of my husband’s needs and work harder to build him up. I need
to recognize the good things he does instead of focusing on the negatives.
Marriage is hard work. I think one of the reasons it can be so hard, is because
it can also bring you the greatest blessings, not only in this life, but in the
life to come. Satan knows that. That is why he works overtime to destroy
marriages. Something that I am going to work on is serving my husband more. You
love those you serve. I know that by serving him, our relationship will grow
stronger. Another thing that we are working on together is saying our prayers
together as a couple. I feel very close to my husband when we pray together.
This is something that I know will strengthen our marriage.
